Horcrux Destruction Back on Track

Christmas and New Years came and went and I enjoyed every minute of them.  I spent some quality time with my husband, family, friends, and my two feline furballs.  Since my last update I have now received two rounds of the new chemo combo and thus far it appears to be shrinking the Horcrux. The oncologist will confirm this next week, but if all is good then I will get two more rounds (4 infusions) then off to surgery!  My last infusion will most likely be on Feb 14th.  I am not normally one to acknowledge Valentine’s day but if that is my last infusion, I will celebrate will all the love!  I haven’t experienced too many crazy side effects of the new chemo combo except that it makes me extremely tired.  Some days I just want to hide under the covers in my bed and not move but life goes on and it does the body good to get out of bed and get some fresh air.

I hope to meet with the surgeon soon to see my options and make some decisions.  I want them to at least take the left breast because that is the one that grows all the weird stuff.  However, if they take both, then my anxiety levels of a reoccurrence in the other breast will significantly decrease which will improve my overall quality of life.  I have tried to research all that I can about a Nipple-sparing mastectomy, which is what my surgeon originally offered me, but there is so much information that is dependent upon my responses to chemo that I just can’t make sense of it at this point. All I know is that although I have appreciated the beautiful mammaries that God gave me, it’s time for them to go.  Until next time. . .
