Surgery time, well almost.
The date of my surgery has been officially scheduled for March 12 th . I have had several meetings with my surgical oncologist, medical oncologist, and plastic surgeon. (I’d be lying if I didn’t feel a little fancy for saying I have a plastic surgeon!) We came up with a plan for removal of both my breasts and reconstruction. It was a very difficult decision to decide on removing both breasts because the surgery is intense and the recovery is not a cake walk but given that I have dense breasts and many, many more years to live, I need them gone. While I appreciate the beautiful bosom that God gave me, it’s time to set them free and see what my plastics guy can do. Reconstruction will not take place immediately because there is still a good possibility that I will require radiation. Once the surgeon can get her hands deep into my breasts, she can then determine what all is left of the Horcrux, both in my breast and lymph nodes. B...
